Wildly remote

I’ve never been to Wyoming. These next few days will check off some boxes when it comes to states I’m seeing for the first time. I was rudely introduced to the state with snow, which was light and didn’t impact me. But boy did the scenery pop for it. I drove around Cheyenne for a bit, who knew it is the biggest city in the state. After seeing their downtown, I took a side highway west up to Laramie.

Dusted by snow

I had planned on exploring Curt Gowdy State Park but with the weather, my desire to hike was thwarted. Still, I wanted to see the area so I drove down the entry to just take in the views. And yeah, it was awesome.

Simply spectacular views

Kept driving to Laramie, where I got a coffee, got some exercise in and updated the blog for a bit. I’m finding that I just can’t bring myself to write daily. Even though this isn’t much of a journalistic triumph, I’m realizing that when I need something for me that I lean into it. Regardless of if it doesn’t fit a preconceived behavior.

The emptiness of a coffee shop in the afternoon

Kept the off-interstate vibe going, continuing west to my destination, Rawlins, WY. Got settled in, was able to experience the Amana golf trip draft live, then got some reading in before bed.
