Batter up

There’s this new mixed use community area on the eastern side of Louisville called Norton Commons. Really interesting concept, almost Truman Show-esque. They tout it as ‘more life per square foot’ and is in Prospect, KY. I wanted to check it out as it was intriguing. Tons of nature, amenities, parks, different types of housing (single family, townhome, condo, etc.) and a bit of retail throughout. Really well done, I spent most of the day working from a location there. 2 bed/2 bath stand alone 1,400 square feet was going for $515K. And that’s with a $300/mo HOA. I’d take the cheaper condo just a minute away for $250K as the same size. Still, enjoyed it.

Thanks for the well wishes, coffee shop

Grabbed some groceries after and then headed to do some laundry. When you get down to that last pair of underwear, there’s no room for error. Drove south because I saw a laundromat that also had slot machines and sure, why not? It’s what you expected, didn’t gamble but did figure out I needed to get a laundry card after trying unsuccessfully to use my credit card at the washer…like an idiot.

Riveting photography, I know

Knew it was going to be a beautiful night and the Reds triple A baseball team plays in Louisville, the Bats. Bought the cheapest ticket (lawn, $9 plus a $3 fee) and was in the venue. Gorgeous ball park, they were doing $1 Coors Lights (declined) and walked around the stadium a few times. Lot of offense early, 3 HRs in the first few innings. Lightly attended, but I’d definitely come back.

Perfect night for a ballgame

Debating on staying one more day to catch the soccer match, it’s the USL team here in Louisville. Likely will leave though as the weather will roll in around kickoff and bring some rain.
