#6 TN Golf

I don’t know why, but I keep choosing some inexpensive courses. Most of this I think has to do with location over anything else. As I was leaving Kentucky to return to Tennessee for a week, I wanted something along the way and Portland…TN has a golf course called Dogwood Hills Country Club that I booked for today.

As the round was getting close, I looked at the map and realized…it’s only 9 holes. No matter, I’ll just play it twice and proceeded to get to the course fairly early. I was informed that on the weekend for my 10:36 AM tee time that the course did not allow walking. I protested a bit, primarily because the tee sign in sheet for the day had 2 golfers on the course. Not getting them to budge, I set out in a cart for two loops on this Dog(Track)Wood course.

As you can see…the track was just fine

I ended up being joined by one of the two other golfers on the course, Lamont, for a few holes. Owns a car detail shop in a suburb I was set to visit the next day, Gallatin. Nice guy, relatively new to golf, didn’t get his picture. We played about 5 holes together while I stopped at the turn for a PB&J. Greens were in great shape, my golf game was a bit off. Really wanted to quit after 9 but stuck it out and finished the round. Unfortunately, GHIN didn’t have the course listed so I was not able to post my score.

Two greens in regulation won’t get it done, even if I played from the tips

The round behind me, I grabbed a shower in town before continuing south to Hendersonville, TN. Drove around the town for a bit, did some to do’s at a Panera and caught up with Chris ahead of my travels to the STL area next weekend.

FaceTime with CMo

Liked the area, ready to continue exploring Tennessee next week.
