So far I’ve somehow chosen golf courses on the cheap. The first three courses averaged just under $60. For my time in Kentucky, I wanted to play a local municipal course tied to the city of Louisville. Enter Charlie Vettiner Golf Course. Not sure what I was getting into, but it had the tee time I was looking for so I booked it without knowing the price. Decided to walk, course seemed pretty accessible and after checking in, was told my round was going to cost under $22. Heck of a price, let’s see how the course looks.

Course had all the makings of a good spot, of course they just aerated so that was a challenge. Felt like you had to absolutely demolish a putt to get it there. I rang the flagstick on my approach shot from 142 yards on the 10th, which, reminded me the last thing I want is a hole in one by myself. Because once again, didn’t get to golf with anyone. Really didn’t run into anyone on the course until around the 16th. But I sped through the round, shot a “green gimme” 78 on the course. If it was inside the leather, I gave it to myself.

With all this extra time, I got freshened up and spent the afternoon working at a coffee shop in downtown J-town, then headed over to Mount Washington. Caught up on some evening work, a few pints and some pizza at Gallant Fox Brewing. Good times and some great atmosphere for sure.
